Best News Ever!

August 17, 2021 by still a dreamer

Drumroll please! I am so happy, excited, over the moon – you name it! to announce that my first children’s book has been accepted for publication!

Where Do Butterflies Go at Night, my only picture book story in rhyme, will be published by Ethicool Books, a young and growing publisher creating extraordinary and extraordinarily beautiful books inspiring kids to create positive change in the world. This is a unique company that walks the walk of sustainability in making the world a better place for both young readers and the world at large.

Illustrating Butterflies is Stella Mongodi, an unbelievably talented artist who will bring the magical images of my text to life in ways I can’t yet even imagine. She has a unique and unforgettable style, and I can’t wait to see what she does.

And what you see here? The little butterfly that so piques the curiosity of a small child and inspires their rich fantasies.

More to come …

Thank you, Cheryl. As a fellow writer, you know what a journey it is to get published. Isn’t it great when a publisher really sees what you can do? Can’t wait to share more as it all unfolds.

Congratulations on your book~! I find the subject very interesting, and the title grabs my attention.

I have many types of plants especially for butterfly’s on my place and among the many butterfly’s who delight me with their presence are the sulphur butterfly, which look a lot like the one you show. They seem to favor the Senna plants, which are so plentiful here.

Of interest is that during migration, at night, they will hang from branches of the trees one attached to the others above looking much huge icicles or stalactites. So this must be an indication that they gang up (or bunch up) to rest at night.

Thanks, Sam. This is quite exciting! These are Cabbage Whites, and very sweet, small butterflies.

Thanks,Lavinia. I”m pretty behind on keeping up with people, too, so we’re both in that club.
Not sure what’s happening up by you, but hoping you have air to breathe.
