Right about now you might be thinking it’s pretty slim pickings in my brain that after all the time lapsed since my last post all I’m coming up with are some cat photos. Well, hold on just a minute there. First of all, they’re not just any cat photos – they’re of my beautiful Miss Jazzy. Second, we have some thoughts about the economy of environmental packaging and the inventiveness of cats. What’s that now?
Lately I’ve noticed that two companies I order from online fairly regularly have taken to using more environmentally friendly packing materials, and I really do appreciate that. No more packing peanuts, bubble wrap or plastic pillows. They’re using relatively cheap brown wrapping paper bunched up and stuffed to fill the box. (Yes, trees, but plastic is worse.) The advantage of that? Instant cat toys! Not only is the box left out on the floor entertaining, but the brown paper can be arranged and re-arranged in ways that are endless fun for Jazzy. Hide a few toys, and she’s busy playing for awhile, (see below), and therein lies the movable cat sculpture. Cats are so inventive with so little.
Are there more things to write about? Oh yeah! Plenty of them. It’s been a kind of blah few weeks after the holidays, not terribly inspiring, and it seems there’s been a lot of that going around. Well, settle in your comfy chair with your favorite hot (or cold) beverage and a good book because the first snowstorm of the season will be pulling into the Eastern seaboard station tonight. And there’s nothing like some snow to get one to dreaming. (Until the shoveling begins, anyway.)
Meanwhile, take a few moments and play with your furred and feathered friends. Be safe. Stay warm.
Ha! I am sitting in the center of a blizzard! Constant snow since yesterday morning! I hand-shoveled the driveway twice yesterday, along with a few paths, and this AM another foot of snow covers my work! Now blowing snow fills the bird feeders. And this won’t end until tomorrow morning. Enough of this!
Jazzy looks absolutely radiant! Her shiny coat is blinding! What a pretty and lucky feline she is. And all thanks to her wonderful mom who cares for her unconditionally.

Hi Diane! You and me both! All told we are expecting over 2′ here. Ugh. The snow is now just about to the top of my tires on this side. They say it’s going to let up in a couple hours – super heavy now – and I’m going to go out and shovel a path out to the road, maybe push the snow off the car, clear the porches and then get to the rest in the morning when we’re supposed to have bright sun at 7 a.m.. Really? 😛
Thanks on Jazzy – she is doing very well, but I do have to give credit for that coat to good quality food, even if she is super-picky. She is just a little doll.
And now to work on taxes … may as well make use of this time, right?

I have 19″ of snow to shovel off my driveway. VDOT plowed one path down the center of the road, leaving a 48″ wall of snow at the entrance to my driveway!!! And they won’t make another pass to the shoulder. I may be here till spring…SC looking very good these days.
Be careful. D.

Believe it or else, we got 30″ here! I shoveled my little heart out, but thankfully, got help from my neighbor, (with a snowblower), on the driveway and that similar wall of snow at the end. But for that, I was feeling the same way – it would be days before I could actually shovel it all. It’s as if this storm made up for all the snow we haven’t had so far this season.
